The Hazlebury Kitchen: Terms and Conditions

By buying a cake or paying a deposit with The Hazlebury Kitchen, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Payment terms 

To secure your booking with The Hazlebury Kitchen. We  require a non-refundable booking deposit of £100 for  wedding orders, and £50 for celebrations cakes and all  other products. Your date is not secured and your order  is not confirmed until we have received the booking  deposit. 

All quotations will be sent via e-mail and are valid for 7  days from date of issue. We reserve the right to revise  prices after this period. 

For Wedding Orders, the balance of your invoice must be  paid in full no later than 4 weeks before the date of  delivery. 

For Celebration Cake orders and all other orders, the  balance of your invoice must be paid in full no later than  7 days before the date of delivery unless agreed  otherwise. 

If you wish to have alterations that affect the cost, after  this date, the balance will be adjusted accordingly. 

Cancellation Policy 

All cancellations must be made in writing. If for any  reason you have to cancel your booking, the booking  deposit is non-refundable.  

For cancellations of wedding orders, with less than 4  weeks’ notice, the full payment (including the booking  deposit) is non-refundable. For cancellations of  celebrations cakes and all other orders, with less than 7  days’ notice, the full payment (including booking deposit)  is non-refundable. 

Postponement Policy 

If you wish to postpone your wedding booking date for  any reason (including due to Covid-19 Regulations), you  must request this by email, and we will check our  availability. A £25 postponement admin fee would apply.  

All deposit payments would then be transferred to the  new date and any items listed in the invoice, provided  they are available.  

In the event that The Hazlebury Kitchen are not available  for the postponed Wedding/Event date, our cancellation  policy (above) remains. 

Postponements are available up until 4 weeks before the  scheduled event date, after this, dates are non transferable and final balances for the original dates are  payable.  

We therefore strongly recommend you take out wedding  insurance to cover your date. 

Collection/delivery 

We are happy to deliver your cakes at an extra charge.  This will be included in your initial quote. 

Once the order has been delivered and set up or  collected you are responsible for it and The Hazlebury  Kitchen will not accept any responsibility for any loss or  damage arising. If the cake is moved after set up The  Hazlebury Kitchen will not take any responsibility for any  loss or damage arising.  

If you request that we leave your cakes somewhere or  with someone, this is your responsibility. The Hazlebury  Kitchen will not be liable if they do not arrive with you  safely after we have handed them over. 

If you are not happy 

If you are not a 100% happy with your cake for any  reason within reason, we are happy to fully refund you  providing you let me know what is wrong within 12 hours of delivery/ collection and the cake is returned to us at  Tudor Limes, Redgrave, IP221RW. 

Please note - if the cake is collected, the full  responsibility for the safety of the cake is with the client  and The Hazlebury Kitchen will not be responsible for any  damage to the cake after its been collected. 

Hopefully you will never have any reason to be unhappy  with your cake but if you do, please don't hesitate to  contact us. 

*all our cakes are bespoke and made by hand and  flowers and berries are seasonal; this can mean that it  will not be exactly the same as any photos/ colour  schemes or descriptions that have been agreed. we do  strive for near perfection but as we are all unique, so are  our cakes. 

By paying your final invoice, you are confirming that  what is detailed on the final confirmation is exactly what  you want us to provide.


Decorations and Flowers 

You acknowledge that if you chose to have fresh flowers  decorated on your cake, you understand that those fresh  flowers are not suitable for consumption. Although I take  every precaution to avoid contamination through advice  of the florist and will not place toxic or poisonous flowers  on the cake, I cannot be liable for any contamination to  your wedding cake that may arise from the misuse of  fresh flowers. Fresh flowers are placed in plastic flower  picks which are also not edible and should be removed  before serving.  

If you have chosen a tiered cake, each tier of cake sits on  a cardboard cake card and the bottom tier will be on a  cake card and then onto a cake stand, please note if you  have hired the log cake stand, this is untreated wood.  The tiered cake will also have up to 8 dowels per tier  which are made of wood, paper or plastic. You will be  notified on your ‘Cake Delivery Sheet’ upon delivery if  any other decorations on the cake are not edible.  


Photography 

We will usually photograph our cakes and we kindly  reserve the right to use any photographs for display or  promotion without compensation to you. 

Allergens 

We cannot guarantee that any of our products do not  contain any substance that may cause some form of  allergic reaction. You are responsible for advising your guests of this and we will not accept any liability for any  loss, damage or injury from exposure to anything which  might cause an allergic reaction. This may include, but  without limitation, nuts, nut products, alcohol, dairy,  wheat, sulphates or colouring.  

You should also note that some decorations are not  edible (fresh flowers, wires, ribbons, pins, jewels, boards,  

or injury arising from any such exposure.  

A dietary list of ingredients can be provided to you if  required. This must be requested a minimum of 4 weeks  before your event. If a venue require a list of ingredients  this is to be requested via you and not the venue 

Our products contain gluten, wheat, dairy, eggs and may  contain traces of nuts unless otherwise stated. 

We are willing to accommodate for certain allergies  however, please consider this is a working kitchen full of  a wide range of ingredients. We will use the correct  ingredients for your allergy but we cannot guarantee it  will be free from that particular requirement due to the  kitchen it is baked in. We accept no liability for  customers suffering allergic reactions from eating our  cakes. 

The following ingredients are used in my standard cakes  and cupcakes: Self Raising Flour, Butter, Caster Sugar,  Eggs, Milk, Flavourings (if requested), Icing Sugar, Cream,  White Chocolate (for fondant cakes), Raw Cacao (for  chocolate cakes) Fondant Covering, may contain traces of  nut plus other items for individual flavours.  

The following ingredients are used in my brownies: Plain  Flour, Butter, Dark Brown Sugar, Eggs, Raw Cacao. White  Chocolate, may contain traces of nuts. 

Weather and Acts of God 

The Hazlebury Kitchen do not hold any responsibility for  adverse weather conditions affecting access to any  venue. The Hazlebury Kitchen will give every attempt to  get to the venue only when it is deemed safe. 

The Hazlebury Kitchen cannot be held responsible for  ‘Acts of God’ (Fire, flood etc), Government Advice,  Pandemics, labour disputes, failure of electricity supply  and any other unforeseeable circumstance that prevent  the promise of its services.  

The Hazlebury Kitchen reserve the rights to review and  update the Terms and Conditions periodically. 

Privacy 

The privacy and security of your information is important  to us. This Privacy Notice explains the types of personal  data we may collect about you, how we use it, who we  share it with and how long we keep it for.  This privacy policy may change from time to time. We  will not explicitly inform our clients or website users of  these changes. Instead, we recommend that you check  this page occasionally for any policy changes.

We do not share personal data with any third parties,  bodies or organisations. 

Under Data Protection Law you have the right to request  details of any personal information that we hold about  you and for this information to be disregarded.  

You also have the right to change the permissions that  you have given us in relation to how we may use your  information and you have the right to request that we  stop using your information or that we delete all  personal information that we hold relating to you.
